At the academy, the OSO offers Kindermusik, an award-winning music program for newborns to children 7 years old. The program strengthens language development, logic and reasoning development, emotional development, social development, physical development, creative development, and musical development. The OSO contracts with certified Kindermusik instructors Cathy Mullins and Katie Redfern.

Because the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra believes music changes lives, it continues to search for funding to bring award-winning Kindermusik classes to underserved preschoolers who attend Owensboro Public Schools and Daviess County Public Schools. A pilot program made Kindermusik available to scores of children at Hager Preschool — free of charge during the 2007-2008 season.
